TENGO UNA CASA Tengo una casa es una película espontánea, sencilla y directa. Nico (Ernesto Alterio) y Ferrari (Pedro Alonso) se encuentran en una carretera. Nico es un guitarrista que, después de once años rodando de pueblo en pueblo con el mismo repertorio, es expulsado de la orquesta de turno al no poder reprimir la energía que lleva dentro. Ferrari huye de la policía en un ruinoso 1500 que, al igual que su novia, le ha dejado a la mitad del camino. Ferrari es impulsivo, tenaz y perseverante, pero necesita compañía para que su vida tenga sentido. El encuentro inicial no es muy cordial, pero Nico no tiene ganas de seguir caminando, y Ferrari busca quien le ayude a empujar su vehículo. Así que, muy a su pesar, juntan sus trayectos en un viaje que se interrumpe cuando les roban el coche. Perdidos en plena noche, buscan el 1500, pero sólo encuentran una pequeña casa de madera en medio del bosque, propiedad de Bólido (Nancho Novo), un hombre que está tomando valor, con ayuda del whiskey, para acabar su vida. El Bólido, conocido así por sus radio-oyentes, se ha ganado el respeto y el aprecio de los que han seguido su programa durante años, por no haberse dejado engullir por los circuitos comerciales de la radio. Sin embargo, por mantener su integridad ha pagado un alto precio: se ha quedado sin novia y sin trabajo. Mónica Laguna ha juntado a este grupo de inconformes en esta vieja casa, y nos hace reir con sus eccentricidades. Las cosas se complican con la aparición de la atractiva vecina (Silke), perdidamente enamorada del suicida. I HAVE A HOUSE I Have a House is a spontaneous film, simple and direct. Nico (Ernesto Alterio) and Ferrari (Pedro Alonso) find each other by the roadside. Nico is a guitar player who, after 11 years from town to town with the same repertory, is kicked out of the orchestra of the moment for being unable to control his excessive outbursts of energy. Ferrari runs from the police in an old, dilapidated 1500 which, like his girlfriend, has given up on him. Ferrari is impulsive, tenacious and persevering, but he needs company to feel like his life makes some sense. The characters' initial meeting is not too cordial, but Nico doesn't feel like walking any more, and Ferrari needs someone to help him push the car. With some recalcitrance, they join up in a trip which is interrupted when their car is stolen. Lost in the night, they look for the 1500, but find instead a small timber house in the middle of the woods, owned by Bólido (Nancho Novo), a man trying to gather up the courage, with the help of lots of whiskey, to end his life. Bólido, the name by which he is known to his radio audience, is a man who has earned their respect and affection, program after program, for more than a decade, for not letting the commercial radio circuits absorb him. However, keeping his integrity has cost him dearly: he has been left jobless and without a girlfriend. Mónica Laguna has gathered this group of non-conformists in this old house, who make us laugh with their eccentricities. Things get out of hand with the arrival of the attractive neighbor (Silke), hopelessly in love with the bent-on-suicide Bólido. Produced by Almodóvar, I Have a House has a refreshing, original tone, as quirky as its characters. |

Mónica Laguna Nació en Madrid en 1964. Estudia Imagen y Sonido en la Facultad de C.C. de la Información. Trabaja como cantante, fotógrafa, operadora de video, auxiliar de video. En 1988 realiza du primer corto en 35 mm., Sabor a rosas, que gana varios premios internacionales. Dirige un segundo corto, Quiero que sea él. Tengo una casa es su primer largometraje. |
Mónica Laguna Born in Madrid in 1964. Studied Image and Sound in the C.C. School of Information. Works as a singer, photographer, video operator and video assistant. In 1988 she makes her first short, A Taste of Roses, whicn won several awards. She made a second short, I Want It To Be Him. This is her first feature film. |
