Matías, juez de Línea Matías es juez de línea de soccer. Su honestidad es irrepochable; por lo que es lógico que sea escogido para pitar en el juego que decidirá la participación del equipo español en el mundial de futból. No es ninguna sorpresa que este inocente y justo juez pite un penalti que le costará la participación en el mundial al equipo español. Tampoco es ninguna sorpresa que sea merecedor de un intento de linchamiento por los fanáticos. Buscando un escape su unica posibilidad es San Amancio, un pequeño pueblo de la costa gallega cuyos habitantes se dedican en exclusiva al contrabando de "licor del Santo". El padre de Matías, El Pellejo, ve en la llegada de su hijo la oportunidad de hacerse valer ante sus paísanos. El juez de línea se transforma en el Juez, un oficial judicial, como en consecuencia sus problemas comienzan a multiplicarse de manera insospechada. Esta comedia satírica-alcohólica del grupo La Cuadrilla presenta a sus miembros (Luis guridi, Santiago Aguilar) en un tono más gentil e inocente que el de su debut cinematográfico: Justino un Asesino de LaTercera Edad. Con ecos de la comedia inglesa de los años 50, especialmente el clásico de Alexander Mackendrick Tight Little Island, La Cuadrilla satiriza la obsesión nacional por el deporte, la Iglesia, las actividades mortuorias, el contrabando de licor, el alcohólismo, las rencillas personales, el amor maternal. En fin nada se se salva del humor implacable de La Cuadrilla, quienes utilizan como punto de vista el santo inocente, el candido de Matías, excelentemente interpretado por carlos de Gabriel. El gran Saturnino García, repite una aparición como Justino, el memorable protagonista del primer exito de la cuadrilla. |
Matías, Line Judge Matías is a line judge of soccer. His honesty is unquestionable; so logically he is selected to arbitrate the game that will decide the participation of the Spanish team in the World Cup of Soccer. It is not surprise that this innocent, and fair judge will call a penalty that will cause the Spanish team not to play in the World Cup. It is also no surprise that the fans will try to beat him up. His only escape is a small town in the Galician coast call San Amancio, where the local people dedicate themselves to contraband liquor, called "Licor El Santo." Matías' father see in the arrival of his son an opportunity to get the respect of his fellow town people. The line judge transform himself into a judge, a judicial officer. As consecuence his problems begin to multiply in an unsuspected way. This satyrical-alcoholic comedy of the group "La Cuadrilla" presents its members (Luis Guridi, Santiago Aguilar) in a more gentle and innocent tone than there first film: Justino an Assasin of The Third Age. With a echoes of the English comedy of the 50's, specially Alexander Mackendrick's classic Tight Little Island, La Cuadrilla satirizes the national obsession with sports, the church, mortuary activities, liquor contraband, alcoholism, personal grudges and maternal love. Nothing is free from the humor of La Cuadrilla, who use the point of view of Matias, the innocent saint (brilliantly portrayed by Carlos de Gabriel) as the main focus. The great Saturnino García repeats with his performance his memorable Justino from the first film of La Cuadrilla.

La Cuadrilla Los miembros de La Cuadrilla se conocieron en 1979. Un amplio número de colaboradores han hecho posibles las propuestas del grupo que fueron creciendo desde los primeros cortometrajes en super 8. Hoy en día Luis Guridi y santiago Aguilar se reparten el trabajo de escribir y dirigir. Ambos nacieron Madrid, al final de la década de los cincuenta. Siguiendo una vieja costumbre, vuelven a cambiar de nombre cada vez que se enfrentan a un nuevo projecto. |
La Cuadrilla The members of la Cuadrilla met in 1979. Thanks to a large number of collaborators this group, who started with short films in super 8, have been able to materialize their projects. Nowadays luis Guridi and Santiago Aguilar share the tasks of writting and directing. Both were born in Madrid in the late 50's. Following an old custom they change name when they start a new project. |
