Besos en la frente Mercedes Arévalo (China Zorrilla) con sus ochenta años nunca ha vivido una experiencia amorosa que la haga madurar. Su vida, su personalidad, parecen haberse detenido en el tiempo. Continúa siendo en su interior una jovencita de quince años que se niega a crecer. Sebastián Miguez (Leonardo Sbaraglia) de veintiséiss años viene de Montevideo, su ciudad natal, con la ilusión de superar un fracaso amoroso y de encontrar en Buenos Aires mejores oportunidades de trabajo como guionista. El encuentro entre el joven escritor uruguayo y la aristócrata anciana, marca la vida de ambos. Durante el transcurso de una tarde, Mercedes se enamora de Sebastián. Sebastian al conocer la arrolladora personalidad de Mercedes se siente hechizado y asustado. Luego de un mes, y al no acudir Sebastián a una cita con Mercedes, ella lo busca a la sórdida pensión donde vive. Ambos se sinceran y transan un pacto de amistad. Sebastián acepta ir a vivir a la casa de ella. Podrá el deseo entender razones? Qué pasará entonces, cuando el impulso de su joven corazón, Mercedes traspase los límites que impone el amor platónico? Esta mágica película inspirada en una obra de teatro del guionista Jacobo Langsner- Una margarita llamada Mercedes- es una de las más logradas obras del veterano cineasta Carlos Galletini. Como en su previa cinta, Convivencia, Galletini se limita a un reducido número de personajes y de localizaciones. Pero un guión de primera y un extraordinario reparto transforman una historia un tanto grotesca en una experiencia inolvidablemente romántica. El melancólico Sebastián enfrenta un capítulo importante en su vida, que se convertirá en su primer éxito cinematográfico. La seductora Mercedes resuelve cuestiones pendientes de su vida. Los actores China Zorrilla y el joven Leonardo Sbaraglia (tan recordado por su labor en Caballos Salvajes) están perfectos en sus respectivos roles. Como expectadores, asistimos a su enamoramiento, comprendemos cómo se asustan de sus propios sentimientos y cómo se animan a escuchar sus deseos y.les animamos a que no dejen pasar por alto esta oportuinidad que la vida les ofrece. El Sr, Galletini, demostrando un total control y dominio de su material, narra con sencillez e inteligencia esta historia sentimental que nunca cae en lo trillado o cursi y el director corona la cinta con un final sorpresivo y perfecto. |

The meeting between the young Uruguayan writer and the Aristocratic old lady marks both lives. Over the course of an afternoon, Mercedes falls in love with Sebastián. When Sebastián experiences the overwhelming personality of Mercedes he feels bewitched and scared. After a month, when Sebastián fails to show up to an appointment with Mercedes, she looks for him at the sordid pension where he lives. Both are sincere to each other and after a pact of friendship, Sebastian accepts to go live at her house. Can desire understand reason? What will happen, when at the impulse of her young heart, Mercedes traspasses the limits that platonic love imposses? This magical film inspired on a Theatre play from screenwriter Jacobo Langsner, is one of the best accomplished works of veteran filmmaker Carlos Galletini. As in his previous film, Convivencia, Galletini limits himself to a reduced number of characters and locations. Yet, a first class screening, and an extraordinary cast transform a somewhat grotesque story into an unforgettably romantic experience. The actors China Zorrilla and Leonardo Sbaraglia (well remembered for his role in Wild Horses) are perfect in their roles. As spectators we evidence their falling in love, we understand how they get scared of their own feelings, we urge them not to let pass the opportunity life is offering. Mr. Galletini narrates with simplicity and intelligence this sentimental story demonstrating total control of the material. The ending is perfect and unexpected. |
