Bésame Paula (Caroline Redl) rehúsa un puesto que promete una brillante carrera piensa casarse con su amigo Michael (Kar Scheve). Michael y Fabián son rivales en el amor de la misma mujer. Pero Paula toma otro camino Esta deliciosa comedia es una de las mas hermosas y románticas películas alemanas de los últimos años. Maris Pfeiffer hace un prometedor debut con esta cinta como directora - guionista. Crea un universo totalmente verosímil donde los protagonistas crean sus propias reglas y donde el espectador se identifica con las idiosincracias de los personajes. La atractiva Caroline Redl es una maravilla como Paula, la voluptuosa joven moderna que no sabe decidir a quién amar y qué hacer con su vida. Katja Riemann, a quien vimos el año pasado en The Most Desired Man, casi se roba la película como la alocada pero adorable hermana mayor de la protagonista. Esta película simple y sencilla requiere un toque a lo Lubitsch para funcionar y Pfeiffer nunca pierde el control de su material. Con unos excelentes actores y una bonita fotografía la película alcanza su propósito: deleitarnos con una romántica historia fresca y juvenil. |
Kiss Me Paula (Caroline Redl) rejects a position that promises to lead to a brilliant career and decides to marry her friend Michael (Kar Scheve). He can give her everything she desires: trust, security and affection. Everything goes the normal way, if it weren't for Paula's tic of stealing pens. In Michael's antique store she steals a fountain pen in a provocative way, knowing that she is been observed. Fabian (Tobias Langhoff) the victim, enters Paula's life. He asks for explanations but he doesn't denounce her to the police. This is because Paula's tic fascinates him. He cannot stop thinking of her. Paula is also attracted to him but she seems him as an obstacle to her decision to live with Michael. She fights against the temptation but when she least expects it she falls into the trap of being with fabian: stealing from a department store and walking with him around the city at night.
Michael and fabian are adversaries in their love for the same woman. But Paula takes another path. This exquisite comedy is one of the loveliest and most romantic recent German films. Maris Pfeiffer makes a promising debut as director-screenwritter. She creates a totally believable scenario where the protagonist make their own rules and the spactator identifies with the idiosyncracies of the characters. The attractive caroline Redl is wonderful as Paula, the voluptous young woman who cannot decide who to love and what to do with her life. katja Riemann, who we saw last year in The Most Desired Man, she stands out as the the crazy yet adorable older sister of the protagonist. This simple film requires Lubitsch touch to work and Pfeiffer never looses control of her material. With excellent actors and a pretty photography the movie reaches its goal of delivering a romantic, fresh and juvenile story.

Maris Pfeiffer Nació en Duren en 1962 pero creció en Brasil. Estudió en el colegio de cine y televisión (HFF) en Munich de 1984-1990. Completó estudios post-graduados en Nueva York. Ha realizado numerosos cortometrajes y producciones para TV desde el 1985. Bésame es su primer largometraje. |
